Reason #7: Writing assignments
All students are expected to meet grade-level standards. And to fully ensure that students are learning what they’re taught, v12 provides writing assignments for teachers to hand out at the end of select activities. These assignments are a way for students to synthesize the instruction they’ve received. In other words—to show what they’ve learned. Some of the assignments include: Main Idea and Supporting Details/Information Table/Cause and Effect, where students fill in the empty boxes and then write a summary of the article; Point of View, where students practice writing in the first person point of view; and a Response Journal, where students can do specific exercises, such as create a timeline of their life.
