Student experiences don't lie: Imagine Learning is the best product on the market for providing an engaging learning experience. Awhile back we discussed the “rules of engagement” and how these rules are essential in educating students. Imagine Museum is just one of the ways Imagine Learning targets a better student experience.
What is Imagine Museum, you may ask? Imagine Museum is a virtual environment in which students freely customize their tropical arena in any way they can imagine.
Students first receive a monkey avatar to design according to their personality, and they can purchase bananas to cast on the banana-pult.
How do they purchase those bananas (and other good stuff)? With Booster Bits!
While working through various Imagine Learning activities, students earn Booster Bits for answering questions correctly.
For example, if students answer a question correctly on the first attempt, they earn a green Booster Bit worth 20 points. If they answer incorrectly, but answer correctly after some feedback, they earn a yellow Booster Bit worth 10 points, and so on. This system allows students to self-monitor and self-correct.
After earning a certain number of Booster bits, students earn the opportunity to visit the Imagine Museum. Once inside, students can customize their very own exhibit.
This fun environment affords each student some time for exploration and self-expression, two highly motivating factors that improve student engagement. Additionally, the Booster Bits serve as a performance metric for students, giving them immediate feedback that is visual and fun.
Booster Bits and the Imagine Museum are highlights of the Imagine Learning program, allowing students to express their creativity by designing their own exhibits and seeing their progress at every stage.
