Nick, the Limerick Maker   Hark, ye lasses and lads, it's that time of year when leprechauns plan merry mischief in the green fields and woods. It's also time for Imagine Learning's annual limerick contest. Here's one to get you started: There once was a young lad named Nick Who loved to perform a neat trick: He crafted a rhyme— So fine; so sublime, And called it his best limerick. Can you beat Nick at his rhyming game? We're betting you can. And you'll learn all about rhyming in the bargain! So, what should your subject be?

It's also time for Imagine Learning's annual limerick contest. Here's one to get you started:

For 2016, the limerick contest theme is all about school and learning.

Write out a limerick that matches this theme (your limerick could be about reading a book, performing a science experiment, doing a puzzle, or doing something else related to the theme).

Once you've completed your limerick, send it to us in the comments below.

At the End of the Rainbow

Of course, no contest would be complete without a few prizes. Here's the pot of gold that awaits our three top contestants:

1st place: Leprechaun's Lunchbox (full-sized Imagine Learning lunchbox filled with fun and goodies) 2nd place: Imagine Learning ball cap 3rd place: Imagine Learning mouse pad and bookmarks

Contest deadline: March 17, 2016 - St. Patrick's Day

We'll look over all the limericks and pick our top three favorites, which we'll announce in a blog post on March 18th. Get ready, get set, and go!

If you need a refresher on the rules of limerick writing, listen to Nick sing all about it in the following video.
