5 ways to beat standardized test stress—Tip #5: Try something different

There’s been a lot of research on seemingly wacky strategies that just might boost test scores. For example, using exercise to stimulate kids’ brains and having students write down their anxieties before a test have both been proven to help students do better on tests.

Here’s a trick one of our curriculum designers swears by—give each of your students a piece of peppermint candy to suck on during tests. Some researchers say peppermint boosts concentration and helps students score higher on tests.

Whatever you decide to do, don’t be afraid to try something that seems a little wacky—it just might work!
