Presenter: Clydie Wakefield, Executive Director of Curriculum Development at Imagine Learning

About the webinar: Response to Intervention is an increasingly popular program designed to more aggressively target students’ learning needs by providing three levels of instruction. Although it is demanding and resource-intensive, RTI is an aggressive approach to boosting learning, and it has proven to be especially effective in identifying and helping students who have the greatest needs. In this one-hour webinar, presenter Clydie Wakefield shares insights from principals who are using RTI to accelerate student progress and close the achievement gap. You’ll learn how to identify resources, develop tools, and overcome obstacles as you implement an RTI program that will work for your students, teachers, and administrators.

About the presenter: Clydie Wakefield is a former elementary school teacher who holds a master’s degree in educational psychology with an emphasis in reading instruction. Ms. Wakefield has taught reading at varying levels of instructional intensity as a classroom teacher, a small-group instructor, and a one-on-one reading coach. She has also taught at the university level, written several educational research papers, and presented at national conferences, including conferences for the National School Board Association and the American Educational Research Association. Ms. Wakefield, who has designed educational software for more than twenty years, currently serves as Executive Director of Curriculum Development for Imagine Learning.

The best-decorated classrooms and a tour of Imagine Learning

Whenever I get a chance to visit a school, I’m always excited to see how teachers have decorated their classrooms. The majority seem to take great care in using decorations to create fun and engaging learning environments for their students.

My favorite classrooms to visit are the ones where teachers have covered the walls with important lesson points and an assortment of student projects. I like how this not only gives students fresh learning environment but also makes the physical space a reflection of the class’s personality. It tells a story of the uniqueness of the class and the curriculum they’re exploring.

With this in mind, I thought it might be fun to let you all see how Imagine Learning’s physical space reflects our personality. We have a lot of dedicated professionals who work hard to create engaging products that fulfill our goal to teach English to the children of the world, and, like so many classrooms I’ve seen, I think our workspace provides a good reflection of who we are and what we do. Since most of you have never had a tour of our office space, I’ve posted some pictures of our headquarters in Provo, Utah. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do everyday.
