Senior QA Engineer, Automation

As an automation engineer you will be developing test automation for various components of the product. Responsibilities include the following:

  • developing, implementing, and maintaining in-house, proprietary automation tools
  • creating test plans and writing/executing automated test cases based on product specs/requirements
  • isolating defects and providing specific conditions for reproducibility
  • writing instructional information for other testers to use the automation
  • providing detailed technical reports for management
  • analyzing test execution results
  • managing activities to meet delivery dates and report accurate status
  • complete assigned tasks using both automated and manual testing

You must be able to concentrate in an open environment, remain focused for long periods of time, and stay on task. There are many opportunities for technical growth in this position, depending on your aptitude and drive.

Required Qualifications

  • 8-10+ years of applicable professional QA experience or bachelor’s degree in CS/EE/IT/related field plus 4 years of experience
  • Strong programming background in an object oriented language (C# preferred)
  • Ability to communicate ideas and information effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Analytical and detail oriented with excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Expertise with Windows, Mac and iOS
  • A great desire to help customers and coworkers succeed
  • Strong passion for promoting product quality
  • Good knowledge of networking troubleshooting
  • Experience writing test plans/cases and creating defect descriptions
  • Ability to diagnose software problems beyond superficial symptoms and establish a root cause
  • Be self-driven and motivated to research, plan, and execute tasks with very limited supervision
  • Clear understanding of the software development life cycle and specific knowledge of quality processes

Desirable Qualifications and Technical Skills

  • C# experience a big plus
  • Experience with Agile development processes
  • Experience developing test automation
  • Ability to test with limited documentation
  • Knowledge of Web Servers (IIS or others)
  • Previous testing experience of Web applications
  • Experience in performance and scalability testing
  • Unity 3D experience
  • Experience with Scrum
