Teaching in the Age of AI: Let’s Get Practical

Many educators feel pressure to “figure out” AI while keeping up with lesson planning, grading, and everything else. That’s a big ask. And it’s the inspiration behind our newest on-demand professional learning series.

Even for educators who aren’t yet using generative AI in the classroom, AI’s influence is unmistakable: through the questions students are asking, the tools they use outside of school, and the expectations families bring to parent-teacher conferences.

Many educators feel pressure to “figure out” AI quickly, with little guidance, while also keeping up with lesson planning, grading, and everything else that makes up the school day.

That’s a big ask. And it’s the inspiration behind our newest on-demand series, Teaching in the Age of AI: A Practical Series for K–12 Educators. This six-part professional learning series is designed to be accessible, reliable, and help educators leave with real classroom tools they can use the moment they’re done watching.

Each session includes an “Imagine Learning AI-Ready Educator” certificate of completion and downloadable resources so educators can immediately move from learning to action.

Introducing AI to the classroom: why now’s the right time

With recent national assessments that show students still struggling in both literacy and math, educators need practical solutions that free up time, improve instruction, and engage students meaningfully. AI tools can play a role — if used responsibly.

While conversations about AI in education that focus on big ideas or future possibilities have their place, this series focuses on today. Each week, a different facilitator helps answer big-picture questions such as:

How do I explain AI to my students in plain language?

How can I vet tools to protect student data and ensure equity?

Where does AI fit into lesson planning?

How can AI help me give meaningful feedback without sacrificing academic integrity?

What’s the best way to introduce AI literacy to students of different ages?

How do I take all of this and make a sustainable plan for my own classroom?
